How to get a Trade Desk API token (and connect it to Ad Reform)

A step-by-step guide to generating a TTD API token

Landon Bennett

You need API access on your Trade Desk account. If you don’t have it, ask your Trade Desk Account Manager or Technical Account Manager to turn it on.

If several tools connect to your Trade Desk account, we recommend creating a separate token for each one. That way you can revoke one tool’s access without breaking the others.

  1. In The Trade Desk, go to Manage API tokens.

  2. Click Generate Token.

  3. Give the token a descriptive name, such as “Ad Reform integration.”

  4. Set the lifetime. We recommend one year so you don’t have to replace it often.

  5. Click Save, then copy the token right away. Save it in your password manager too.

  1. In Ad Reform, open the Trade Desk Connector settings.

  2. Paste the token into the API Token field.

  3. Click Create Connector.

Your campaigns and ads start syncing the next day, and every day after that.

If syncing stops later, the token has usually expired or been revoked. Generate a new token and update the connector. Wondering whether to connect CM360 instead? Read our comparison.
